Monthly Seed Bead Bag: Can't Post

I have been asked about seed beads, and we can do similar deals for people, beading groups, etc that want to order large large quantities of colors of seed beads.

Seed beads (japanese) come in 250, 500 and 1000 gram units. They are usually sold in 10 gram units, which means 25-100 units on my shelves PER-COLOR/KIND.

I can't compete on price, with some of the websites out there, since there is a *lot* of work to weigh and packge the colors, but if anyone is interested in getting on the waiting list, I am figuring a 24-color pack, in flip-top tubes and clear plastic organizer, with 10gms per tube, for $50+6 shipping per month. People find that a big number, but in reality, anything less than 10 grams doesn't leave you enough to work with.

For those that find that too much for their budget, there is a $30/month option, that will get you 12 grams of beads, every 2 months. It works out the same, per gram, but you only get 24 colors every 2 months.

There will be a good mix of beads each month, and it might take 2-3 months of shipments before you find all the colors you need for a project, but I think it's still the least expensive way to acquire large amounts of different colors and kids of seed beads, in a neatly organized system.

Our benefit from this is increasing the number of colors/kinds of beads we offer in our retail shop.

Primarily, there will be size 11/o beads, but there may be surprise delicas, size 15's, 10's, 8's and 6's, drops, cubes, etc.

At $2 a tube, that is less than our basic retail price, but again, our benefit from this is getting a larger variety in our shop.

If you are interested, I need to have at least 15 people signed up. If I can get 25 or more, I will increase the $50+6 membership to 12 grams per tube -- an even better deal, and perhaps one of the best around.

The power of group buying ;)

We are still short of the 15 people interested. If you've been thinking about it, now's the time to raise your hand.

Again, if we can get 25 people signed up, I will increase the 24-tube per month offer to 12 grams per vial. That is probably the best deal in the 'Net for this sort of club!

We've been pricing out various seed bead clubs offered around the net, and we are more convinced than ever our idea, and club, is a better value, and better deal all around than any other you'll find!

At about $2 per 10-12 gram tube, there is no better deal!

They will all be Japanese beads, from either Miyuki or Toho. Beads will be marked with their standard stock numbers, so reorders of beads you fall in love with will be easy (either from us, or any other vendor). There will *always* be bonus additions (unless you chose not to get them).

We will offer 2 options at first:

1) Quarterly option, annual billing: You will receive 1 package every 3 months, for 5 shipments (one full year). $50+6 shipping/insurance per shipment, for a total of $280 one time billing. Renewals will be for 4 shipments, and if you renew, you'll either get a rebate on any shipping overages -- *or* we'll keep your $6 shipping fee even if the rates go up!

2) Monthly option, quarterly billing: You will receive 1 package a month, for 3 months (4 months with your first billing), at $50+6 per shipment, or $224 one-time billing, with a recurring $168 billing every 3 months. Your price is guaranteed for 2 years (9 shipments).

With 24 colors each shipment, there will be plenty of room for color coordinated groups, random colors, "wild" items, and more! We will try to make at least 4 of the tubes "specials", which will be either delicas, cubes, drops, size 8's, or other specials to add a spark of creativity to your work. You can request *all* 11/o seed beads, or the standard package, where 4 of the 20 tubes can contain "specials" as noted above.

If you prefer, you can get a "large project" membership that includes 30 grams of each of the seed beads (seed bead only option), and ships in 2 snap cases of 12 4" flip tops. Cost is $100/month + $8 shipping. You must pre-pay 3 shipments at a time, $224. It's like getting 3 memberships for the price of 2!

All shipping is to lower 48 state US Addresses *only*.

Our first kit is ready. It will be 15 10grm tubes of Miyuki beads, mostly reds, pinks, greens and greys. It will also include 4 30-gram tubes of Toho 11/o seed bead mixes (to replace 8 of the 10-gram tubes for a bonus 40 extra grams!) as a "Welcome" bonus. These beads retail at $2 a 9-10 gram tube in the craft stores, so there is $24 in those 4 tubes alone! We will also include 5 grams of black and 5 grams of pearlescent delicas, just to whet your appetite, if you've never worked with them before! This fills up all 24 slots in our kit, and gives you a great sampling of beads in great colors to get you started!

Our on-line order system is still not set up, so you can submit your order by US Mail or by Fax. (Fax is *always* secure, as long as you direct-dial (by phone) and the receiving fax machine is in a secure location, and ours is!)

(NOTE: if you selected the all 11/o bead option, your order will include a 5th 30-gram tube of Toho bead mixes in place of the Delicas and 1 of the 10grm tubes of Miyuki beads), for a total of 14 10-gram tubes of Miyuki beads, and 5 30-gram tubes of Toho beads.)

The first seed bead kit is ready.

I have enough for 5 new members, this month, (in addition to the kits I've held pending inquries, and members). There are 5 unclaimed kits (maybe more).

The image below will show the kits. There are 14 tubes of miyuki beads 10 grams each. 2 tubes of delicas (black and opalescent white) 5gms each, and 4 30-gram tubes of Toho bead mixes including a flourescnt color lined beads, lavendars, and a matt, translucent pastel blues set. There is also a 10 gram+ tube of "vintage" mixed seed beads, from our bulk pit as an added bonus.

Depending on the feedback, we may keep two colors of delica beads in the kit each month. They will be something you can use together, or with previous months colors.

I still need to get the sign up forms, but it will be $50+$6 shipping per month, all the other details as posted here hold. First billing is for 4 kits, subsequent recurring billings are for 3 kits.

As a re-bill bonus, we will send a free flip-top tray organizer with your first rebilled shipment! We'll absorb any additional shipping, and you'll get the $5+ item free.

Hi! Living in West-central PA makes it hard to hit the bead shops....there are practically none! So this is great! As an avid beader I'm feeling the flow of the monthly seed bead club. Price wise is cool too... I was just wondering if there could be maybe a smaller package sent out each month. Like maybe 12 viles? Flip-top cases are cool too...but for those who maybe want to go a cheaper route that already have their bead boxes (as most beaders already do), try using just the small plastic lock bags. They're cheap you can get like 100 for $1.00! I love those things! Anywho....just an idea...

Interested in PA,

We're thinking about a few things. We have a lot of new software in the works, that will let us do some more "interesting" things.

The zip lock bags are not really that much cheaper, from a production point of view. We buy the flip tops 1000+ at a time, and they don't rip, tear, scuff up, etc like the bags do. The real cost is the beads, not the container, and when all is said and done, it might take a dime off the cost of a bead tube, but it makes storing things, from our point of view too messy.

When measuring out the beads, the flip tops stand on their own on the scales, and don't roll, flop over, or otherwise spit-out their contents.

We can toss the flip tops into boxes, scoop them up, "rough handle" them and we don't have to worry about them ripping, or losing beads. After a few torn bags, you start to lose any savings *really* quickly, and that cost would be passed on -- in higher prices.

Sometimes, especially in a retail or commercial situation, penny pinching is penny wise, but $$ foolish (to paraphrase an old cliche).
