Well, we just had our last Beed Meetup for Sept, and while only 2 people showed, they had a great time and left very excited.
We'd love to see you all there, and have everyone get excited about the fun of beading!
While we've tried to have themed meetups, it has worked out better on Saturdays to just do what the general interest of those who show up is.
Tonight, it was a range of things from jewelry repair to stringing and finishing.
One lady was told by a local jeweler that it would be 30 cents per bead/pearl (no knotting) to repair her bracelet. Hmm.... 20 pearls, $6. That's a bit high, considering it takes about 10 minutes, and .30 cents in wire, or pennies in nylon. I don't know what any finishing charges were, but I'm sure there were some.
Jewelry repair is one of the greatest things about doing it yourself. You can repair or upgrade -- or alter -- your existing jewelry to be exactly what you want.
Anyway, plan on showing up in October, and beyond for more great fun, and get ready to make your own gifts for this holiday season and save big (and get better quality) than the department stores.
Jewelry parties are still available, we have times open many weekends and most weekdays through December. But, times fill up fast especially after Thanksgiving. December bookings require a deposit, 80% of which can be turned into a gift certificate for our store if the party is cancelled.
