Lepidolite and Bali Sterling Can't Post

This is an awesome strand of translucent graduated, lepidolite. Stunning!

We were asked to turn it into a necklace, and nothing we could think of was doing justice to the lavendar of the beads, especially in the front. So, we left them alone.

They were well cut, and rounded, and moved well together, so no spacers were needed, and in fact, might have cut into the beads over time.

But, to add a little length, we had to add 2" to the strand, including the clasp.

The bead frames along the sides were placed where the final major transition was made, and filled with the smallest of the beads.

As the strands ended, we needed to transition into the silver of the toggle, so we added a single spacer between 4 beads, a double spacer between 3 groups of 2 beads, and finally 2 small spacers between groups of 2 of the smallest beads.

The end,the sliver "bead" was made with a 3mm, 4mm, 3mm flat bali spacer. A 3x2mm crimp was used to add strength, and the loop size was adjusted to allow the toggle to move without pulling on the wire. About 1/4" inch of slack was needed to give the beads enough moving room.

Simple, elegant, and the pictures just don't do it justice in any way!

This is some of the most beautiful lepidolite I've ever seen, and both marie and I are happy with the results -- it was a combined effort.
