What's missing from your local bead shop or chain store? Can't Post

The title says it all.

When you want to start a project, or need something, what is missing from your local suppliers? Not everyone is fortunate enough to have a fully stocked bead or craft store near by, and often has to settle for one of the chain stores and their middle of the road selection.

Recently, something as simple as BLACK Cebelia from DMC became a quest!

What things have you found missing or wanting, in your local selection?

As I just discovered you existance yesterday (Bedadwork, Feb/Mar)...I can't fully comment on the state of beading supplies in Pittsburgh...but I find it impossible to locate great clasps, art beads, anything high-end at the other shops(2) or chain stores. I travel to Cincinnati if looking for something really special (St. Theresa Textile Trove)

I missed this post, but we are increasing our selection of clasps all the time, concentrating on the items our regular customers and designers want. We have a standard stock of sterling and pewter toggles, and I'm working on increasing the variety. We have a selection of magnetic and barrel claps, and we cannibalize vintage and other jewelry for odd clasps, spacers, and such. I also have most of the standard "costume" clasps you'll find at the crafts stores (ring claps, lobster claws, etc). I do have small brass lobster claws (vintage) and other oddities.

We have a selection of higher end lampwork beads -- bumpy and smooth -- and are looking for local glass crafts people to increase the selection.

WE have a really "eclectic" mixture of items, and one of our DBA names is "Eclectia Hobbies" just for that reason :)
