We are starting classes this week, and from now on... Can't Post

We have an area set up as a class room now, finishing touches are being done the next day or two.

We'll be starting a series of classes to make use of the space, and we'll be running the classes even with 1 person. Obviously, if no one shows up/signs up we won't actually run the class.....

The class descriptions will be posted at http://betterbeads.com in the classes area.

I'm finishing up a scheduling program that will let you sign up on-line.

We expect over time, to have different instructors teaching the same or similar classes (sort of like 101 classes in college). The program will allow the class to be scheduled with different instructors. Each class will have a unique ID. (A date, time, instructor, description.) Hopefully, the program will keep track of your classes, and provide a record of it. As time goes on, I'd like to allow it to take payments on-line as well, and allow you to cancel/move your classes around. We'll offer class packs, for a discount, and other features.

Most classes will be in the $35 price range, with materials fees varying.

For instance, a "Mommy Bracelet" class, in which you'll learn basic bead stringing and assembly techniques for the popular "Mommy" name bracelets, can vary from as little as $12-$15 if you use glass beads and standard findings, to well over $75 or more for more exotic stones and toggles. Our average bracelet has been in the $45-50 range for 6-8 letters, gemstone beads, silver spacers and bali sterling toggle. Similar bracelets easily sell in boutiques, tourist stores, and the like for over $100. (We've heard of people paying $125 or more for bracelets you can make for 1/3rd the price!).

Macrame classes have a $5-10 materials fee, and again depends on the types of beads you pick to accent the work.

Stay tuned for more information coming in the next few days!
