Coming up at the Creative Inspirations Expo Can't Post

We are going to be at the Creative Inspirations show at the Pittsburgh ExpoMart. More information about the show can be found here:

http://sewingevents.com/.../cip_pittsburgh.html

The following classes were submitted, and will be given on each of the three days.

Kits can be purchased at the event, and extra kits and findings will be available.

We'll be doing demonstrations during the show, and there will be ample opportunities for you to try out new techniques, and learn new things. We are *NOT* moving our shop to the show, and are only taking supplies and kits that will support the demonstrations and classes. We'll be open Sunday, at 10am, to pick up anyone who wants to stop by after the show.

We'll have a large selection of books, and back issues. It will be a "hands on" event.

The demonstrations will include on and off loom bead weaving, Peyote stitch, coralling, wire wrapping, bead stringing and use of the crimping tools, macrame (bracelets, watch bands, and more), and much, much more! Anything you are interested in, and we have the supplies for, we'll be glad to show you.

Stop buy, purchase $25 or more at the show, and get a discount coupon for our shop. Stop by our shop, and pick up a discount coupon for purchases of class kits at the show. Purchase $25 in beads and findings, and get a 10% off coupon. Purchase $50 or more in beads and findings, and get a 20% off coupon. (Discounts good on the class kits at the show only -- we want you to go to the show, and support local craft events!)

========================================

Macrame With Style

The 60's are back, and so is macreme, but it's all grown up! A far cry from the plant hanger days, the new style works for watch bands, earrings, and much, much more. Participants will make either a choker using a gemstone donut as a center piece, or a bracelet using crow beads. The skills learned can be used to make many other items. Kit fee $10 bracelet, $12 necklace.

Beaded Earrings.

A lot easier than it looks, the participants will learn the basic skills for making beaded dangle earrings from sterling silver and Swarovski crytals. Kit has one set of Sterling findings, coordinated Swarovski crystals, and practice materials. Kit $20.

Wire Wrapping Beads.

A simple skill, but one with a huge creative pay off! Everyone has odd and assorted beads, or a bead you just love, but don't know what to do with. Wire wrapping can be the answer! All you need is wire, a few tools, and your bead stash! Any larger bead in bone, glass, crystal, gemstone, or acrylic is a potential wrapper. Kit fee: $20 (includes sterling and craft wires, and beads). Tool available to use.
Quality tool kit: Round Nose Pliers, Chain Nose Pliers, Flush cut wire cutters can be pre-ordered for $50 up to 1 week prior to show date. Call or stop by the shop!

Simple Bead Stringing and Finishing.

Most people can string beads, and have been doing so since they were old enough to have any eye-hand coordination. Ending the creation, like a Mel Brooks movie, has always been the problem. We'll show you a variety of endings, finishings, and crimps, and let you practice with some of the various stringing materials. Learn a skill that can be used for more than just jewelry making! $20 kit includes a variety of threads, wires, crimps, endings, findings and a few bonus findings to try at home. We'll even show a few simple, but effective knotting techniques for casual and trendy jewelry.
