Accuflex vs Softflex Can't Post

Our choice of beading wire is, and has been, Accuflex by Firemountain Gems, and our reasons are pretty simple and straight forward.
  1. We've been using it for almost 3 years, without ANY problems related to quality, fatigue, or breakage.
  2. They offer an unconditional, no-time-limit guarantee on their products, so if it wasn't top grade, they'd be losing a fortune, and alienating their customers.
  3. If you can't get in to the shop, you can buy it on-line, and not have to shift brands.
  4. And our customers tell us about the problems with the Softflex/etc (usually in the breath right after they tell us how wonderful it is and we should carry it!)
  5. We have not had wire stripping, coating failure, or any of the other problems people have reported with other brands.

I'm interested in how many people are using the Softflex/Softtouch vs Accuflex.

On the issue of "drape": Wires have a bit more body than fibers, (most fibers), since they are metal. But the new 49 strand wires are incredibly flexible, and supple, and except for the lightest of beads, and creations, the difference between wire and fiber isn't going to make that much difference. You can't "twirl" wire, like you can a strand of pearls on silk, but most jewelry is made to wear, and lay, not be played with.

Most people who have come in talking about "drape", do a double take when they feel how soft our bracelets (we make mostly bracelets) are, and are shocked to find out they are on wire (mostly 0.024).

Part of making jewelry drape, is not making it too tight. Leave breathing room between the beads. Jewelry is to wear, not show off on a design board, or bust mold.

Anyway, let's hear it :)
