I posted a bit about our own hosting company UltraNerds Hosting in the Announcements Area.
For those who might not know, PUGDOG Enterprises, Inc. started out as, and still is a computer programming, digital imaging, and website development company. Started out in the mid 1980's on BBS's and dial-up systems, it's evolved, and was incorporated in 1993, and continued to develop as the Internet grew. We've run our own servers for well over a decade, and support dozens of people and companies around the globe on a daily basis.
The bead shop is my "retirement" and my fun. It's how I've moved my hobby and interests into the "down time" between the real work I'm always doing. The beads and rocks are fun, and a great break from computers, lines of code, and networking.
We've been in the same location for 13+ years, and the area we have the dollhouses and rock specimins is our original tiny, windowless office. Years later, walls removed, we have the whole front of the floor set up for the rock/bead shop, but the back still has the legacy of our other business -- computers, collectibles, and my own medical practice (loads of magazines, books, and things I just can't part with).
At one time, we had over 20 phone lines, and 2 multi-line bbs's. We paid more to run 2 non-splice cables from the basement to our 2nd floor office than it cost for the average desktop computer now adays! As computers get smaller and more powerful, and the Internet takes over for phone lines, we can do on one table, with one phone line, what took dozens of phone lines and hundreds of square feet of space less than 10 years ago.
But, that means more room for beads! So as we condense the computers, we get more room for beads, and those who visit regularly have seen many walls come down.
But the long and short of it is, we can help with your bead business, retail, brick and mortar, wholesale and on-line.
