Updates for April 2006 Can't Post

Hi, and welcome to Spring :)

Those of you who have been following our family saga, know we are in a low period, with our foster/adoptive child removed from the home in the middle of the adoption, and serious behavioral issues being addressed with her back in placement. :( It's taken a lot out of us, as you can imagine.

The good news is that we have a lot of new, really great customers, and some of our older ones we haven't seen in awhile are coming back.

We rearranged the store before the holidays, to try to make more room for stuff! There is so much new stuff in the store, we can't list it all (and we can't find a home for it all either!). You really need to come in to see it! We have a half dozen new vendors bringing in handmade and custom items in beads, pendents, glass and gifts.

We stock 3 or 4 (sometimes more) grades of 2x2 sterling crimps from the light-weight ('junk' sold in the craft stores) to the heavy duty medium and heavy weight crimps most of our customers (and ourselves) use every day. We stock other sizes up to 4x4, and several sizes of gold filled. We have crimp covers, and a growing selection of crimp-on ends for wire (and cord) that are really, really nice!

Those of you who shop with us regularly know we can meet or beat most internet prices, on a fair deal. We can keep items you use often in stock, so when you run short at the last minute, you don't have to wait for (or pay express shipment for) a new supply.

As most of you know, our marked prices are "retail" (many below retail) but it's not the price you pay as a repeat customer. We will be trying to jump-start our automated frequent buyer program again, but all of our regular customers *save* over mail order. That's why we see you so often! :)

Marie has worked out some new stitched and beaded items, and our saturday evenings are still open to meetups, workshops, and get-togethers.

I am seriously considering adding a large supply of jump rings to our stock for chainmail use, both in precious metals and stainless steel. I'd really like to know what your interest in that would be, as we get a lot of requests, and many of our customers have shown an interest in doing chain mail for jewelry -- earrings, bracelets, necklaces, or links.

Items we try to keep fully stocked are:

Sterling Silver and gold filled wires. SS in gauges 14-32 (sizes 28-32 as available). Gold filled 24-18ga.
Sterling Sliver and Gold Filled rounds/shapes. Sterling silver in sizes 2mm (sometimes smaller) to 20mm, and gold filled in 2mm-10mm. Corregated or dimpled in sizes 4mm-8mm when available.
Accuflex Clear in 30 and 100 ft rolls in .12, .14, .19 and .24. Sterling and gold plated in .19 and .24, colors in .24
Sterling Crimps - 2x2 in 3-4 weights, 2x3 in medium, 3x3 and 4x4 as available.
GF Crimps 2x2 and 2x3 in medium.
Crimp covers - SS and GF in 2x2 (3mm) and 2x3 (5mm)
Tools - pliers, crimpers and wire cutters
PMC Silver Clay
Sterling silver lobster claws, spring clamps and such in tiny to extremely large
Gold filled lobster claw and spring clamps in small to medium sizes.
Sterling Silver Headpins in simple and fancy styles in thin to thick sizes, and lengths from 1.5" to 4"
GoldFilled Headpins in standard widths in 2" and 3"
... and many more items you can count on being in stock 99% of the time!

Now the biggest news for our ability "stock" what you need and want :) We can get you anything in the FMG catalog, at their 2nd-3rd level pricing, even if you only need one item! Looked at that way, we now *really* do have, without a doubt, the largest inventory at great prices in the region! (We always knew that, but the thousands of items in FMG's catalogs cinch the claims!)

Fire Mountain Gems:

Our agreement with Fire Mountain Gems for discount small ordering has been a BIG hit with both our retail and wholesale customers!

Many of you order from FMG -- whether you admit it or not! Face it, they are about the biggest, their prices, quality and customer service are great, and they have items that no one else has -- and they have them in stock. Their sales are also pretty great too.

Most of you have their catalogs, and if nothing else, skim through them to find a specific clasp, finding, or shape of bead. You try to decide if ordering that one item is worth it. Now it is! And at a discount too!

As a bead shop, we can't stock everything. As a customer, designer, or hobbiest you may need or want something from their catalog but don't want to pay the 1-14 price, generate a larger order, or pay shipping! We can get most items for you at the 2nd-3rd level price, with no large order comittment and no shipping!

Our partnership with FMG started years ago, as we began to swear by -- NOT AT! -- their Accuflex brand wires, and stock most sizes of clear and the sterling and gold. We also stock some colors, and offer the 2nd level catalog price to everyone! (Our stock is a little thin now, we had an unexpected rush the past 2 weeks and should be restocked this week). If you are still using the "other" brands, check out the Accuflex *FAIRLY* and ask yourself why you are paying more -- for less??

Wholesale/designers: You may hold your orders until you have 100 or 200+ items to get the best deals. Sometimes you'll sit on your orders for weeks. Why wait! We can give you competitive pricing, no shipping, and NO WAITING. (No tax either with your Tax ID). Why buy things you don't need, or wait weeks, just to "save" a few dollars when you are really spending more and wasting more time? Check with us, and see what we can offer! 1 item or 100 we can probably save you!
