The weather won out.... Can't Post

The sun seemed to scare away the traffic, and we even had set up some eye catching displays outside.

Pittsburgh weather is unpredictable. And so are people's reactions to it. Sometimes, the rain keeps people away, and sometimes the sun does. Other times, the rain drives people out, and the sun encourages them to get in and take a drive. Today seemed to be that "go to the park" day, not "let's go shopping" day.

The few who took advantage of our discounts, were very, very happy :) Some came back 2 or 3 times throughout the day.

To dispell some anxiety expressed in phone and email by some, we are *NOT* going out of business! We are doing well, and better. The goal of this "event" was to try to move some excess inventory at wholesale prices to the general public, rather than just to our regular wholesale customers. It was all 1st qualiy, same stuff as on the walls, just the "excess". If I had 20 strands, 5 or 6 were put on special. If we had a 100 pendents, 25 of them were on special, etc. Also, a chance to buy some "bulk" packs of odd lots of beads and misc.

We've gotten some nice write ups, we've got some really loyal customers, and a growing regular customer base, and we are having a lot of fun! The number of wholesale (local designers) customers we have is increasing, and that has helped everyone, since it's the base that expands our stock and overall selection. We do our best to keep these bulk buyers happy, and appreciate them dealing with us, rather than by mail with some faceless catalog place.

We have a number of classes and parties scheduled for this week, and the coming weeks, and if you'd like to plan one, call or stop by.

We are getting in a larger assortment of quality rough and metaphysical materials, and some really STUNNING specimens that make great gifts. Spheres, cut, and slabs. We dropped another 200 pounds of polished rock into the "pit" and it contains some STUNNING (no other word works) material we've not had before.

We are specialty tumbling and polishing small slabs for our customers. Many bead around them. Others use them in artwork, jewelry making, or just find them beautiful to collect. We produce about 5-10 per week, random materials, and it's first come first served. We have an increasing selection of the slabs and rough you can polish yourself. Another 10 pounds of small slabs is on the way to arrive next week.

So, no worries! We'll be around for awhile. And, even if the sun (or rain) keeps people away for a day or two, we know you'll be back, and we'll be here.
