As usual, in Pittsburgh, things are kept quiet until the very last moment. We found out about the "Happening" this year, when the banners went up this weekend.
So, not much warning to get ready.
But, we will have a lot of specials, demos, and create it your self stuff. Hopefully the weather will hold out, not too hot, not too cool, and not too wet! We have a storeroom full of stuff we'll try to let see the light of day, and so many new beads and components you simply won't believe it! Really!
We'll be opening early on Saturday, and will have macrame and simple bead stringing projects - appropriate for beginners and kids.
We have so much stuff we are not able to put out, during normal business, we'll be trying to unearth it all and make it available during the "happening." Bring cash, and make a deal. We have loads of shell and coral, some very odd pearls and carvings, and stunning gemstone strands and charms.
We also have a whole new stock of gemstone turtles, and glasswork beaded turtles for wire wrap or ornament use.
Remember -- we are set up as a retail shop, and you can buy most beads individually - not just on strands or in packs -- and you can make your items in our shop to wear out.
But, we are also willing to wholesale, and offer bulk discounts. We can special order, find hard to find items, or keep an ongoing search out for that special bead or gem strand.
We are always increasing the variety of our Bali Sterling, and are trying to work with the manufacturer to get more items YOU would actually want -- not what looks good on a catalog page. We are increasing our Swarovski variety, and can wholesale or special order most items at extremely competitive pricing. If we know you use a certain type (or types) of beads or findings (by your repeat patronage) we'll make sure to stock them so they'll always be only a pickup a way -- not several days by mail order.
Our Bali Sterling Certificats let you lock in a great per-gram price, and pick up the beads as you need them -- one at a time or by the kilo. That is something no mail order company can offer!
Do you want to add beads, or a selection of rocks or gemstones to your store? We can offer a great selection, and let you tailor it to your specific customer interests and tastes. We are working with several specialty shops (non-bead related in general) that want to offer beads and gemstones to their "other" customers, ones who might be leaving empty handed otherwise. Depending on your targeting, you don't need much space, and it can be a very profitable addition.
Do you do, or want to do house parties and add beads/sterling sales to your finished work? Or, do you feel you could do house parties, if you just had more to offer. Talk with us. We can most likely work something out, and tailor it to your specific needs.
And with the holidays, homecomings and other galas coming up, don't forget our sterling letter beads, that can make anything from school spirt zipper pulls, to high-class Swarovski enhanced name bracelets. We offer the letters individually or in kits at *extremely* competitive pricing. Bring your list of names in, or email us, and we'll have the letters packaged and ready to pick up.
So many things are going on, and so many new things and features have been added to our shop, we can't remember them all! And, we don't have as much time as we had hoped to develop our websites more fully. But that is a GOOD thing, since when you come in, and look around, you will be OVERWHELMED with the variety, and breadth of selection. We've actually had customers leave to get a cup of coffee downstairs to regroup and compose themselves. They were not expecting the overwhelming variety, and needed to take a breather and start over! (It's true!)
Marie and I are having a lot of fun with the shop. We want to share that with the Pittsburgh area, and we want to be YOUR bead shop! Come in, pull up a chair, and start beading! We love what we are doing, and what our customers are doing with our beads. We'll lend a hand where ever and when ever we can.
PS: You should see what came in today! Cane beads, Pearl clusters, carved shell, new crimp findings, rutile and tourmaline quartz, and so much more! It was an exciting day. We have a selection of carved flowers in different materials, but the aragonite flowers that came in, are in a class by themselves!
