I've started to look for a new location, but things might be on hold. I might end up opening back up for awhile, or doing local "trunk shows" If anyone is interested in having us bring beads to a location during the warmer weather for promotional purposes, we can probably arrange something. I'd like to have a mobile bead mobile, and that may happen before I reopen (it was supposed to be phase 2).
The problem is (look at the news) that I was supposed to move out of the city, and the business would follow (or vice versa). That is not going to happen so fast, or soon, it seems. There are a lot of retail spaces opening all over, but moving the home isn't as easy.
We can still provide wholesale prices and items on many things, and we can still process the discounted orders through Firemountain Gems on a bi-weekly basis.
Over 90% of our bead inventory is in storage already, but the high-end strands are still on the wall (we are servicing our designers and higher end customers), and we have a selection of findings in Silver and GF available. Our mid to lower end gemstones, and all the glass beads, and such have been stored. We can get to them for shows or events, but they aren't on-hand for browsing or selecting.
I'm way behind on opening up the multi-use artists space (Where I might hold a trunk show or two) but we are much, much closer after the past couple of weeks of a little additional help.
On the positive side, we've found some awesome gemstones and rocks in the metaphysical realm, from stunning quartzes (amethyst, citrine, etc) to tourmalines and dravites, and slabs of plume and pictures. There will be a HUGE amount of "new" old inventory on display when we do reopen!!
I also have a huge selection of drilled tourmalines of colors from blue to pink and some high-end materials for super-special one-of-a-kind jewelry. If you are looking for these sorts of sparkley stones, or for something on the high-end in color or quality for gemstones, these are still available in the old location, at least for a little while longer.
I have 3 dollhouses in mid to final construction, and once the last of the bead stuff goes, I'll have several more. These are HIGH END, not your typical. One is a die-cut kit that won't resemble the box much, the other two are 1/4 -3/8 plywood. I have two other plywood kits available, but If I don't finish the interiors, they will be about $5000, if I do, well, these are investment grade items, and if you are looking for a dollhouse, I can customize colors or finishing (wood vs paint or paper, etc) to your needs.
Just an update, and that we are just on-hold, not out of the picture :)
