Paper Quilling -- ThrillingQuilling.com Can't Post

We've been involved with quilling for about 30 years. It was a great 70's craze, that died out fairly quickly despite being easy, decorative, fun and INEXPENSIVE!!

Quilling dates back a long ways. Originally made from the gilted edges of books, to give the impression of gold filligree, it's been used over the years to do an impressive amount of decorating!

Not only is it used in wall hangings, or shadow boxes, it's been set under glass in tables, used in 3-Dimentional miniatures, and even for light weight and fun jewelry.

The scrapbookers have discovered it -- or rather the scrap booking companies have discovered it as another way to push papers. Because of it's truly 3-d nature, it does not lend itself to books of any sort (except recessed covers), so it's relegated to shadow boxes and deep-frames for memory use.

BUT! It still makes wonderful cards, and decorations separate from any "higher" purpose.

We have a complete selection of tools and papers -- some dating back the full 30 years or more (some of it was old then!)

New papers are being cut, and new kits are coming out.

We'll be offering classes on the basics.

Almost any bold graphic image (children's coloring books, pretty punch patterns, etc) can be used for a basic pattern.

Several books are available for making flowers, but really -- once you master the basics of rolling and shaping the paper -- the sky's the limit! There are no fences or boundaries holding you back!

You can sit at a desk and in a few moments turn a few strips of that inter-office memo and a paper clip into a decorative pin!

Stop by, stay tuned, and give it a try!
