Closeouts, Clearances, Cleanups Can't Post

I need to make more room in the shop, and there are a lot of odds and ends, and items we don't usually carry, which we'd like to see go.

We've acquired a lot of loose and odd beads and findings over the years as trade ins, or with purchases of bulk lots. Also, seed beads have become a far smaller part of our business, and really are only used as spacers by most of our customers. People seem to buy them on-line. I am looking to close out the bulk of our seed beads in bulk and retail packs, and silver and gold plate items, as well as thin out the "bulk" of the gemstone beads.

We'll always have an eclectic mix of items, but our main purpose of providing the gemstones, gold-filled, sterling silver, and higher end items has started to get lost with all the other stuff we've taken in. It's got to go.

We have a huge amount of "costume" grade beads in a variety of materials which we'd like to clear out, and bulk lots of pearls. These are items which would make great pieces for the summer street and craft fairs, kids parties, bead parties of all sorts, and similar activities. They are just not the main items we carry.

We can't carry it all, I only have about 1200 sq feet of space open for the beads. That's why we now offer the catalog ordering through FMG. Many people have taken advantage of that for the best of both worlds. Hands-on matching of the fine gemstone and glass beads (something you can't do on the Internet) and huge selection of findings and add-ons (which you can do from a catalog) at savings off the catalog prices -- even for large orders.

If you order on-line, or buy bulk beads, for sales at craft fairs or shows, stop by. We might be able to offer you more and lower prices, as well as keep the items you need in stock for emergencies. Express shipping can eat up profits quickly!

The more of this off-topic (for lack of a better word) stuff I can clear out, the more room there is for the unusual beads, loose gemstone beads, and the stuff you can't easily order on-line. Loose gemstone beads (rather than whole strands), wholesale orders, and special orders through Firemountain have become a larger part of our business, and the bulk of the seed beads have got to go. Until such time as interest picks up again.

We will still carry the "costume" grade finding items in bulk (head pins, ear wires, and such), we just don't want to stock the silver and gold plate beads, lower-end plastic and acrylic, and such. We will stock copper, brass, sterling, gold-filled, and some of the costume (gold-tone, silver-tone) findings that aren't available in other materials. We will still seek out the hard-to-find and unusual items to make your creations unique. We also have expanded our stock of "base" items such as Accuflex wire in all sizes and many kinds (sterling, silver plate, brass, gold plated and regular) and we are stocking more gold-filled and sterling wire for people doing wire working and taking classes. We also stock more lower and mid priced cabochons for those classes, in addition to the ultra high grade we have had.

Readers of this forum will get the best selection, if they come in now. I'll be packing things up through the summer, and the final fling will be whenever the Squirrel Hill street fair is, if we are having one this year. Right now, silver plate and bulk seed beads are being targeted.

Remember: Our hours are shortened, we are now closed Mon-Tues-Wednesday. Hopefully, I'll be able to expand hours again by the end of summer.

We are *NOT* closing. Family and health issues have dictated the shorter hours for the summer.
