no embellishers? Can't Post

it appears that nobody around here embellishes things... hmm.

I'm not a great fan of tacking the odd bead onto a perfectly good jumper, but i do like classy embellishment.

coral fringing is a fave, kinky fringe i think it goes by.
looks fantastic on amulet bags (however, being the wimp that i am, i havent tackled an amulet baggie yet)

i also like feature beads, hand carved items, or maybe a 3d flower sewn onto a black velvet or loomwoven collar :) how elegant!

C'mon, someones got to like this sort of biz!

we are finding more people using beads as accents. The quilters are a big group, as a hobby/craft group goes for fancy work, but we are getting in a lot of people who just want simple things added to something they own.

Hi Callatya,

I'm a embellisher. Right now I'm working on a dress overlay which I will put a flower design on with size czech 11/0 beads. I was inspired by a dress in a Victorian magazine. The dress is a solid Maroon under neath & a sheer overlay in maroon. I have a wicker dress dummy that I will be putting it on when not wearing it. It will match the decor of the bedroom!

That sounds lovely! And having it double as room decor is a wonderful idea :)

When you get a chance, i would love to see some work in progress pictures, and of course, the finished item :)

Re: [Callatya] no embellishers? Roses Montes [In reply to] Can't Post

I got in a few roses montes for a customer, who wanted to create a kit from a pattern in a magazine as a gift.

These are backed rhinestones, with a vertical and horizontal pass through the metal (so you can weave them into rows/columns.

This is not something I was aware of before, and they are hard to find. I got mine from a dance company supplier.
